You Can’t Choose What Stays and What Fades Away

Have truer words ever been spoken? And yet this is something I struggle with constantly. I think we all share a desire to control. We want to control what happens in our lives, what happens to our loved ones, what we eat, what we think, what others think of us. Sometimes that desire to control extends to what those around us do. How they feel. How they express those feelings.

It’s hard to be passive. To let things happen as they will and to enjoy them as they are. To be grateful for whatever happens, even if it isn’t our ideal situation. It’s hard to accept that some people aren’t meant to be in your life, no matter how hard you try. Some people don’t WANT to be in your life. Enjoy the people that do. Enjoy the time you have while you have it and don’t worry so much about the future. Don’t let yourself become bitter and angry. Let things wash over you like a wave and be happy.
