Oh hey it’s INSTAGRAM SUNDAY! This was, in all honesty, a pretty boring week. Insanely boring, actually. Most of the time was spent inside (getting over some kind of cold/flu thing + temperatures barely getting out of the 20’s = me becoming a hermit), and… well, no, that’s pretty much it. We went out for dinner on Monday and I’ve been completely unproductive ever since. Well, okay, I’ve been productive on the computer — blogging, doing back-end work for my photography business, making sure I post lots of things to Tumblr, you know the drill. And Nate is always productive, damn him.
There was a totally epic sky on Monday. I stepped outside to take Mukow out back and snapped this shot before running inside to get my real camera. 😉
I got my new, fancy push pins in the mail and was WAY TOO EXCITED. I am in the process of sprucing up my office and the little details really matter. Both sets of the glitter ones are from WhenItRainsShop and the ice cream cone ones are from funkychickendesign, both on Etsy.
We went out to dinner at Bonobo (excellent wood fired pizza!) with my brother and his girlfriend. Bonobo does half-price drinks on Mondays so it’s an obvious choice.
Mukow got this Boba Fett toy for Christmas and she LOVES IT. She always has it with her and often when we come home she’ll run to greet us at the door with it in her mouth. Such a cute, nerdy dog.
I took a selfie because, duh.
I tried out the Scotch tape method, thanks to Kaylah at The Dainty Squid. She always has the most amazing nails (colors, patterns, designs, she’s brilliant!) and this method sounded like something I could pull off. I had just gotten a new polish (Sally Hansen Triple Shine in Sparkling Water) and had a beautiful metallic gold (Sephora by OPI in Keep Me on My Mistletoes) and I went for it. Nate was in the midst of a James Bond spree so I settled onto the couch and went to work. It definitely takes a decent amount of time, effort, and concentration, but I think it was worth it. Next time I’ll be a little less random with the shapes! Also don’t mind my horrifying fingers — they get so irritated and dry this time of year.
I have taken SO MANY BUBBLE BATHS since our new tub was installed. I am pretty much in the tub once a day during the winter — to warm up, relax, and read. Lately I’ve been into The Dead Roam the Earth by Alasdair Wickham, all about the paranormal (hauntings, possessions, demons, real-life ghost sightings, Mothmen… it’s awesome).
I made us pizza the other night for dinner — Nate’s classic (pepperoni & mushroom) is on the left, and I got a little more creative with mine, opting for a homemade pesto base with red bell pepper and goat cheese. SO DELICIOUS.
I finally put those fancy new push pins to use and it made an awesome, glittery mess.
Proof of my work — the bulletin board is looking a bit more populated.
I went grocery shopping and picked up a bottle of pink moscato — I’m alllll about the sweet, pink wines. It was cheap as hell ($6 for a bottle) and quite delicious.
It also paired quite nicely with the homemade alfredo sauce I made for dinner, and we decided to slice up another red bell pepper to go in it since I… may have forgotten the broccoli on my quest for wine. Oops.
